AT 30-50 MPH TRAVELING DOWN HILL ENGINE STALLED TWICE. CONSUMER LOST COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE ENGINE AND OIL LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED AT THE TIME OF THIS CALL.PH *TT

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
GAS PEDAL ON 2006 MAZDA TRIBUTE STICKS. SOMETIMES YOU PRESS AND NOTHING HAPPENS AND THEN IT WILL TAKE OFF AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL NEAR MISSES WITH OTHER VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME DUE TO THIS. I HAD THE GAS PEDAL REPLACED ONCE UNDER WARRANTY LESS THAN 2 YEARS AGO (MARCH 2008) AND NOW HAVE THE PROBLEM AGAIN BUT MAZDA TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL NOT REPLACE IT AGAIN UNLESS I PAY FOR IT EVEN THOUGH IT'S A RECURRING PROBLEM. I THINK THIS HAS TO BE A DESIGN ISSUE GIVEN THE RECURRENCE BUT MAZDA WON'T TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT AND IN FACT DEMANDS PAYMENT EVEN TO ATTEMPT TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM.
