THE VEHICLE START EXPERIENCING A ROAR COMING FROM THE FRONT END. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT TIRES WERE OUR OF BALANCE AND ALSO NEEDED AN ALIGNMENT. THE ALIGNMENT WAS DONE AND WHEELS BALANCED. DID NOT SOLVE PROBLEM. TOOK BACK TO DEALER WHO STATED WOULD NEED A NEW SET OF TIRES TO CORRECT SITUATION. ADVISED DEALER THAT TIRES WERE ONLY 13 MONTHS OLD THAT I WOULD TAKE TO TIRE STORE WHERE TIRES WERE PURCHASED. TIRE DEALER AGREED TO ADJUST TIRES AND PUT A NEW SET OF FOUR TIRES AND BALANCED AGAIN. NOISE STILL EXISTED AND STARTED TO GET WORSE. WENT BACK TO AUTO DEALER AND EXPLAINED NEW TIRES WERE PUT ON. DEALER DECIDED TO PULL FRONT WHEEL ASSEMBLIES TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER FOR PROBLEM. BOTH FRONT WHEELS WERE FOUND TO HAVE BROKEN BEARING SEALS AND BEARINGS WERE CORRODED, ONE ROLLER BEARING WAS MISSING AS WELL. NEW BEARINGS INSTALLED AND PROBLEM SOLVED. FIRST VEHICLE OWNED THAT HAS HAD BEARING PROBLEMS, PARTICULARLY AT 62,000 MILES. OWNED VEHICLES IN THE PAST WITH OVER 200,000 MILES AND NEVER HAD TO HAVE BEARINGS REPLACED. *JB |

I OWN A 2009 LINCOLN MKZ WITH ONLY 22,067 MILES ON IT AND THE ELECTRIC COOLING FAN MODULE WENT OUT. I WAS GOING 10 MPH WHEN STEAM STARTED COMING OUT FROM RIGHT FRONT SIDE OF HOOD. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP (ON A SUNDAY AND 200 MILES AWAY FROM HOME). WHEN CAR WAS INSPECTED ON SUNDAY, 7/21/13, THE THERMOSTAT AND COOLANT WAS REPLACED. AFTER TESTING, THE CAR STILL OVERHEATED. I HAD TO LEAVE THE CAR OVERNIGHT. ON MONDAY, JULY 22, 2013 THE TESTING RESUMED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ELECTRIC COOLING FAN MODULE HAD FAILED. REPAIR SHOP HAD TO ORDER PART FROM A LINCOLN DEALER (25 MILES AWAY). THE PART WAS DELIVERED ON TUESDAY, JULY 23, 2013. AFTER REPLACEMENT OF THIS PART ($1,583.73) THE CAR WAS TESTED AND AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 24, 2013. ON THURSDAY, JULY 25, 2013, MY NEPHEW DROVE FROM CLOVIS, CA. TO PISMO BEACH, CA. AND PICKED UP MY CAR. I AM 72 YEARS OLD AND HAVE PURCHASED LINCOLN PRODUCTS FOR YEARS AS IT HAS BEEN A RELIABLE PRODUCT FOR ME. I WAS 200 MILES AWAY FROM HOME (CLOVIS, CA.) WHEN THE CAR FAILED. SINCE I AM ON DIALYSIS 3 TIMES A WEEK (MONDAY-WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY), I HAD NO CHOICE BUT THE INCUR THE COST OF A RENTAL VEHICLE TO GET ME BACK HOME FOR MY DIALYSIS CARE ON MONDAY. IT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING TO ME THAT A 4 YEAR OLD CAR WITH ONLY 22,067 MILES ON IT, HAD THIS KIND OF FAILURE. I WOULD NOT EXPECT THAT FROM A LINCOLN PRODUCT. *TR |
