LAST WEEK I EXPERIENCED TWO SEPARATE, UNRELATED SAFETY PROBLEMS WITH MY 2008 INFINITI QX56. ON THURSDAY THE TRUCK ABRUPTLY LOST ALL POWER INCLUDING POWER STEERING AND BRAKES AND CAME TO REST ON A HIGHWAY. IT TURNS OUT THAT I HAD RUN OUT OF FUEL, DESPITE THE FUEL GAUGE READING JUST UNDER HALF A TANK REMAINING. I HAD EARLIER BEEN NOTIFIED OF A RECALL REGARDING THIS ISSUE, BUT WAS ON A WAIT LIST DUE TO LACK OF REPLACEMENT PARTS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER THE RECALL THE NEXT DAY, FRIDAY. ON SUNDAY, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST IT'S BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL FELL TO THE FLOOR, AND THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT WENT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO STOP AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER, WHO CONFIRMED THE FAILURE AND ATTRIBUTED IT TO A FAILED MASTER BRAKE BOOSTER. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 INFINITI QX56. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS ILLUMINATED OAS THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT CALLED ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND INSPECTED. THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
