VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
TRUCK STARTED SPEEDING UP BY ITSELF AFTER ABOUT 15 MI OF NORMAL OP. CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT BEING USED AT THE TIME. ALMOST CERTAIN THE CRUISE SERVO WAS PULLING ON THE THROTTLE CAUSING THE PROBLEM. SPEED INCREASED TO AT LEAST 80 AND WOULD HAVE GONE ON UP. CRUISE "OFF" SWITCH ON STEERING WHEEL DID NOT SHUT THE SYSTEM DOWN. BRAKE SWITCH DID NOT SHUT THE SYSTEM DOWN. REDUNDANT SYSTEM: OFF SWITCH IN BRAKE HYDRAULIC LINE DID NOT SHUT THE SYSTEM DOWN. FINALLY GOT STOPPED WITH IGNITION OFF, AFTER BURNING OUT THE FRONT BRAKES. WAS ABLE TO REPEAT THE PROBLEM ONCE AGAIN WHILE LIMPING THE TRUCK HOME. HAVE NOT FOUND THE PROBLEM AS OF JAN 01, 1999.
