TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY TOURING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN SHE OPENED THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR, ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL GAUGES STARTED ILLUMINATING AND EMITTING A CONTINUOUS NOISE FOR ABOUT FIVE MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE THE FAILURE. THIS FAILURE RECURRED AT LEAST THREE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO ASSIGNED HER A CASE MANAGER AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.

BOUGHT A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY WITH 12,000 MILES ON IT WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF OWNING HAD TO TAKE BACK TO DEALER TO HAVE NEW PADS ON THE FRONT AND ROTORS TURNED FRONT AND REAR. AT 16,000 MILES FRONT AND REAR PADS AND REAR ROTORS WERE REPLACED AND FRONT ROTORS RESURFACED AGAIN WHICH PUT THEM BELOW SPECS AND AT 20,000 MILES FRONT ROTORS WERE REPLACED DUE TO DEALER ERROR IN MACHINING THE ROTORS BELOW SPECS AND REPLACED FRONT PADS. BRAKES HAVE A VERY LOUD SQUEAL THAT IS EAR PIERCING AND NOT NORMAL BUT I WAS TOLD BY A 3RD DEALER THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE THAT I JUST HAVE TO LIVE WITH DUE TO POOR DESIGN ON BRAKES OF THESE VEHICLES. VERY UNHAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 1 1/2 YEARS AND ONLY PUT 9,000 MILES ON IT SO FAR AND I AM NOT INTERESTED IN REPLACING BRAKES TO LINE THE POCKETS OF A STRUGGLING VEHICLE MANUFACTURER BY PURCHASING THEIR PARTS. AFTERMARKET PADS AND ROTORS ARE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OEM BECAUSE THE MODEL IS NEWER AND BECAUSE THEY SELL SO MANY.
