TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH IN A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY, THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO A FAULTY POWER TRANSFER UNIT. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

WHILE STOPPED AT INTERSECTION A VEHICLE TRAVELING AT 40 TO 60 MPH TRIED TO TURN THE CORNER AND STRUCK OUR VEHICLE IN THE LEFT FRONT CORNER. THE COLLISION TOTALED THE VEHICLE MAKING THE TURN. AT THIS TIME THE INSURANCE CO. HASN'T DECIDED WHETHER TO TOTAL OURS OR NOT. THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH FRONT AIR BAGS, UNDER DASH LEG AIR BAGS AND FULL SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT WITH THE DIRECTION OF THE IMPACT THAT ALL AIR BAGS WOULD HAVE DEPLOYED, INSTEAD OF NONE. *TR
