CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. DEALER NOTIFIED; VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER; DIAGNOSED AS "FAULTY" SHIFTER ASSEMBLY. DEALER REPLACED AT A COST OF $ 361.00; TOWING FEE $ 106.00. DEALER ADVISED A COMMON ISSUE, BUT NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL DUE TO ASSEMBLY LOCATION AND NOT MANUFACTURED IN 2007 OR LATER, WHICH WOULD BE COVERED BY RECALL. HOW CAN THIS BE SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM THAT THE DEALER; TOWING COMPANY BLOG SITES, INTERNET AND AFTER AMRKET COMPANIES MANUFACTURE CORRECTIVE PARTS, BUT CHRYSLER REMAINS SILENT. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
SUBMISSION FROM RE RECALL K39 AND EXCLUSIONS. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE EXPERIENCED THE EXACT PROBLEM THAT WAS ADDRESSED IN THE RECALL WHERE THE GEAR WAS STUCK IN PARK. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED HIS VEHICLE DIDN'T HAVE THE MOPAR REPLACEMENT PART INSTALLED PRIOR TO JUNE 24, 2007, AND THEREFORE THE RECALL DID NOT APPLY TO HIS VEHICLE.
