WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ANY FURTHER. CARS WERE SPEEDING BY AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATE. EPC LIGHT CAME ON. HAD TO GET OFF THE ROAD AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. CAR HAS DONE THIS MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR THAT I HAVE OWNED IT. EPC LIGHT RESETS AFTER CAR SITS OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES AND PROBLEM GOES AWAY. DEALER SAYS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE THE LIGHT GOES OFF BEFORE IT GETS TO THE DEALER. WHEN THIS HAPPENS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY, IT IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE YOU CANT ACCELERATE AND MOVE TO A SAFE SIDE OF THE ROAD. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE STALLED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE EPC AND ALTERNATOR WARNING INDICATORS. THE ENGINE RESTARTED AFTER TEN MINUTES. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE FUEL PRESSURE SENOR WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED TEN DAYS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,870. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
