TL*-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA TUNDRA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH INTO A PARKING SPACE. THE GEAR SELECTOR WAS SHIFTED FROM DRIVE INTO THE PARK POSITION. IMMEDIATELY, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED OVER 50 MPH. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ENGAGED WITH GREAT FORCE AND THE VEHICLE SURGED 3 INCHES STRIKING THE CURBSIDE. THE GEAR WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK AND THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURY TO THE KNEE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE REQUIRED FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,162. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,240.
