I HAVE A 2000 TOYOTA TUNDRA. DURING NORMAL MAINTENANCE I WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRAME HAD A SEVERE RUST ISSUE. THIS WAS SO SEVERE THAT THE MECHANIC HAD TO BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS WHEN PUTTING THE VEHICLE ON THE LIFT AS TO NOT DAMAGE THE FRAME. THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000 MILES AND AT THIS POINT IS ALMOST UN SAFE TO DRIVE. THE REASON FOR THE MAINTENANCE WAS THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE HAD RUSTED THROUGH, NOT ALLOWING ME TO CHANGE GEARS. I WAS INFORMED ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE TOYOTA TACOMA FRO THIS SAME ISSUE AND FILED A REPORT WITH TOYOTA ON THIS TUNDRA ISSUE. AT THIS POINT I HAVE NO OPTIONS. I WON'T SELL A POSSIBLE DANGEROUS CAR TO ANYONE ELSE AND I DOUBT I WOULD GET ANY THING FRO A TRADE. *TR

POWER TRAIN
TRUCK GETS A BUMP AFTER COMING TO A STOP. SOMETIMES IT'S GETS A REALLY HARD BUMP AND SOMETIMES IT'S JUST A LITTLE BUMP. I KEPT THINKING I GOT HIT AS IT IS VERY NOTICEABLE. NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHY, BUT I DO KNOW THIS, IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE A/C IS RUNNING. I BELIEVE IT'S A COMPUTER SOFTWARE PROBLEM. IT TOOK A COUPLE OF YEARS BECAUSE I FOUND OUT IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE WEATHER GETS WARM AND I USE THE A/C. SEEMS LIKE QUITE A FEW PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE DEALER IS SAYING "I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING" BECAUSE THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER I SEEM TO BE ABLE TO DUPLICATE IT ALL THE TIME. *JS
