VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA TACOMA PRE-RUNNER. THE CONTACT STATED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FAILURE HAPPENED ON TWO OCCASIONS WITHIN ONE MONTH SINCE HE HAS OWNED THE VEHICLE. THE FIRST INCIDENT THE CONTACT STATED HAPPENED ON NOVEMBER 8, 2008. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND CAME TO A ROLLING STOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HIS FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED THEN THE CONTACT PRESSED MORE FIRMLY, BUT THE BACK TIRES STARTED TO SPIN IN ACCELERATION. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL THEN SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF. THE SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED ON DECEMBER 7, 2008. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE PULLING INTO HIS GARAGE, HE PLACED HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKES, AND THE BACK TIRES OF THE VEHICLE SPUN INTO ACCELERATION ONTO HIS CONCRETE DRIVEWAY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SMOKE CAME FROM THE TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND TESTING. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER STATED THE CONTACT MUST OF HAD HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FLOOR MAT WAS NOT AGAINST THE ACCELERATOR, BUT SECURED ON THE FLOOR TABS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAS NOT ACCELERATED SINCE 2008. STRUCTURE: FRAME AND MEMBERS:UNDERBODY SHIELDS
I TOOK MY TRUCK IN FOR THE YEARLY INSPECTION AND IT FAILED FOR A HOLE IN THE FRAME. I CONTACTED TOYOTA AND WAS INFORMED THAT I MISSED A CUSTOMER CARE SERVICE TO INSPECT THE FRAME AND THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY WOULD DO FOR ME. I REPAIRED THE HOLE AND THE VEHICLES PASSED INSPECTION FOR THE FRAME THE PAST TWO YEARS.I WAS DRIVING TODAY AND FOUND THAT THE BED OF MY TRUCK CROOKED. I CHECKED THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FRAME TO FIND THAT IT IS COMPLETELY ROTTED AND THE TRUCK IS NOW UNSAFE TO DRIVE. WILL THIS FRAME RUST ISSUE EVER BECOME A RECALL? ITS A SHAME THAT A PERFECTLY GOOD RUNNING TRUCK IS NOW GARBAGE. *TR
