PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR INDICATES THE MODULE NEEDS REPLACED. COST TO REPAIR IN THE $1000'S. CONTACTED SUZUKI'S CUSTOMER SERVICE TO UTILIZE CUSTOMER ASSISTANT PROGRAM, THEY OFFERED NO HELP IN PAYING FOR HUGE EXPENSE. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THERE ARE OTHERS SUZUKI CUSTOMERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SAME RESULT. MY COMPLAINT IS: T SUZUKI IS RATED HIGH IN SAFETY RATINGS AND I WONDER WHY THE COMPONENT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY, AND HOW IN GOOD FAITH CAN THEY CLAIM #1 SAFETY RATINGS, WHEN IN FACT IF I WERE IN AN ACCIDENT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS MAY OR MAY NOT DEPLOY? IS THIS LEGAL? I WANT THIS PROBLEM DOCUMENTED SO THAT MYSELF AND OTHERS MY BENEFIT FROM THE INFORMATION.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SUZUKI SX4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE ON A CONSISTENT BASIS. WHEN A PASSENGER WOULD SIT IN THE FRONT SEAT THE LIGHT WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED HIM THAT THE SENSOR FAILED AND THE ENTIRE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED TO PAY HALF OFF THE REPAIR AND LABOR COST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
