1999 NISSAN PATHFINDER WITH FUEL LEAKAGE AND CORRODED BRACKET. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE LOWER MOUNTING BRACKET CORRODED CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE FUEL FILLER TUBE CAUSING FUEL TO LEAK. SUSPENSION
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH AND HEARD A CLICKING NOISE FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS DIFFICULTY TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL AND A REDUCTION IN THE ENGINE POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11V244000 (SUSPENSION:FRONT). THE REMEDY CONSISTED OF THE REPLACEMENT OF THE REINFORCEMENT PLATE DUE TO EXCESSIVE CORROSION. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE DEALER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
