TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ADDING FUEL TO THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT THE FILLER NECK WOULD "SPIT" GASOLINE OUT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS ALMOST FULL. HE NOTICED THE PROBLEM EVERY TIME HE ADDED FUEL TO THE TANK. HE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD ABOUT TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS BUT THAT THEY WERE FOR VEHICLES UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED OR REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CONTACT HAD NOT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER TO-DATE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 13V234000 (POWER TRAIN , STEERING) HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS NOT ABLE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED BECAUSE THE PART NEEDED TO CORRECT THE FAILURE WAS ON A MASSIVE WAITING LIST. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT ONLY ONE REMEDY PART WAS BEING SENT TO THE DEALER EVERY FOURTEEN DAYS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
