TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP PATRIOT. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 40 MPH WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT RECOGNIZE WHICH GEAR IT WAS IN AND SHE HAD TO QUICKLY SHIFT TO PARK IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69,000.

I AM WRITING IN REGARD TO THE INVESTIGATION PE12-032. I OWN A 2012 JEEP PATRIOT. THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED REPEATEDLY (4 TIMES - 2 TIMES IN JULY 2012, 1 TIME IN NOVEMBER, AND 1 TIME IN DECEMBER) WHEN CRUISING AT A STEADY HIGHWAY SPEED (65 TO 75 MPH) ON A SLIGHT DOWN GRADIENT ON THE INTERSTATE. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR TWO HOURS OR MORE PRIOR TO BECOMING DISABLED AND REQUIRED A TOW FROM THE HIGHWAY. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE HAD BETWEEN 1/8TH AND 3/8THS OF A TANK OF FUEL. WHEN THE PATRIOT WAS UNLOADED FROM THE FLAT BED TOW TRUCK, IT STARTED IMMEDIATELY ON EACH OCCASION AND THE CHRYSLER REPAIR SHOPS COULD NOT FIND A CODE THAT INDICATED THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED ANY PROBLEM. THE DEALERS SAID BECAUSE THERE WERE NO DIAGNOSTIC CODES, THEY WOULD NOT FIX ANYTHING. PLEASE HELP ME RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I WILL GIVE YOU ANY HELP I CAN.
