I TOOK MY 2007 JEEP COMPASS 2X4 TO HAVE THE DRIVERS FRONT TIRE REPAIRED. THE REPAIR MAN FOUND THAT THE BALL JOINTS WERE BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. I CHECKED IT OUT ONLINE TO FIND THAT MANY JEEP COMPASS OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND ONLY HAS 41,375 ORIGINAL MILES. THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM. MY JEEP WAS PURCHASED FROM A DODGE CHRYSLER DEALER. I ASK THAT YOU FORCE JEEP CHRYSLER TO RECALL THIS VEHICLE FOR THIS DEFECT. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP COMPASS. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLED OR ATTEMPTING TO DECELERATE THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY STALL WITHOUT WARNING SIMILAR TO THE FAILURE DESCRIBED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 08V528000 (POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: CONTROL MODULE -TCM, PCM). THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND INFORMED HIM THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PREVIOUS RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 42,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 37,000.
