HOW MANY SPECIFIC INCIDENT REPORTS DOES THE NHTSA NEED BEFORE THEY REQUIRE CHRYSLER TO EXPLAIN THEIR FAULTY/DEFECTIVE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES? PLEASE REVIEW THE HIGH NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS THAT POINT TO FAILURE OF THE 2006 JEEP COMMANDER'S INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES AND BEGIN THE PROCESS TO REQUIRE A SAFETY RECALL. THIS IS NOT A COSMETIC ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE PLASTIC HOUSING THAT HOLDS THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES IS BRITTLE, CAUSING THE HANDLE TO BREAK, WHICH RENDERS THE HANDLE INOPERABLE (FROM THE INSIDE). OCCUPANTS REPORT HAVING TO ROLL DOWN THEIR WINDOW TO UNLATCH THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 45 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD HAD SOME ELECTRICAL GLITCHES, BUT HAD NEVER STALLED BEFORE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 80,000.
