TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JAGUAR XKR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE OIL LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVED TO THE SHOULDER WHERE OIL WAS ADDED TO THE ENGINE. UPON ADDING, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE OIL HAD LEAKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE OIL COOLER FEED PIPE HOSE LINE HAD RUPTURED AND THE CYLINDERS WERE DAMAGED BY LACK OF OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 61,000. ..UPDATED 02/25/13 *BF THE MECHANIC AT THE REPAIR SHOP INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THERE WAS A CAMPAIGN OUT FOR HIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR. HOWEVER, WHEN THE REPAIR FACILITY CALLED THE DEALER, HE WAS INFORMED THE CAMPAIGN HAD EXPIRED AND THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED EVEN THOUGH THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME SYMPTOMS. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
FIRST EPISODE I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO TURN LEFT AND CAR TURNED OFF. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART CAR. JAGUAR SAID THEY WOULD UPDATE SOFTWARE. SECOND EPISODE AGAIN I WAS TURNING LEFT AT LOW SPEED WHEN CAR TURNED OFF. I TRIED RESTARTING CAR TWICE AND IT WOULD NOT START. I CALLED JAGUAR AND WHILE ON PHONE THE CAR WAS ABLE TO START. AGAIN THEY SAID THEY WOULD UPDATE SOFTWARE. *TR
