WHEN THIS POINT IS REACHED KEY WAS TURNED OFF OR IDLE SELECTED TO SEE HOW HIGH THE RPM WOULD REV; 4800 IS THE HIGHEST NOTED. THIS IS A RANDOM EVENT AS THE CAR HAS OVER 10000 MILES WITH 7 OCCURRENCES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 HYUNDAI XG350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN TO ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WHILE GOING THROUGH AN AUTOMATED CAR WASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK CANISTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE HAD SINCE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER ON EACH OCCASION WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. UPDATED 08/31/11*LJ THE DEALER REPLACED SEVERAL COMPONENTS TO RECTIFY THE ENGINE LIGHT PROBLEM, BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE ABS, TCB AND AIR BAG LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON. UPDATED 09/09/11
