I HAVE A 2001 GMC YUKON XL. RECENTLY THERE WAS A RECALL FOR A FAILURE OF THE ABS BRAKE SENSORS WHICH CAUSED THE BRAKES TO PUMP RAPIDLY AT LOW SPEEDS DUE TO THE SEALS OF THE BEARINGS GOING BAD AND ALLOWING DIRT AND ROAD SALT TO GET TO THE SENSORS. WELL IN EARLY JULY I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE. SOMETIME IN LATE JULY I STARTED GETTING THE PULSING OF THE BRAKES. I WAS TOLD TO WAIT FOR THE RECALL, AND WAS ABLE TO HAVE THE ABS DISABLED BY LOOSENING ONE OF THE SENSORS. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN, THE DEALER REPLACED BOTH SENSORS IN THE FRONT WHEEL HUBS, BUT THEN STATED THE BEARINGS HAD GONE BAD AND I NEEDED A NEW WHEEL HUB. NOW THE CAR STILL HAS NO ABS, AND HAS A FUNNY FEEL FROM THAT WHEEL HUB. THE TRUCK HAS APPROX 53,000MILES ON IT. HOW CAN THE RECALL SAY IT IS BASED ONA FAULTY SEAL OF THE WHEEL BEARINGS GOING BAD, AND THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE TO REPLACE THE SEAL OR THE BEARINGS IF THEY GO BAD DUE TO THEIR DEFECT? I HAVE CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE A NUMBER OF TIMES AND ALL THEY SAY IS "THE RECALL COVERS THE SENSORS ONLY, THE WHEEL HUB IS A WEAR AND TEAR PART" AND DO NOT SHOW HOW THEIR DEFECT IS NOT THE CAUSE. *NM
