SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AT A LOW SPEED, THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED DOWN TO THE FLOOR. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED OUT AND LEAKING BRAKE FLUID. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE THE BRAKE LINES WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2011 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 50 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND WAS SLOW TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO FAILURES AND THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,500 UPDATED 02/23/11 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE ON ACCELERATION. WHENEVER HE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE, THE ENGINE WOULD LAG BEHIND FOR A SPLIT SECOND. WHEN THE ENGINE DID ENGAGE, THE DRIVE TRAIN WOULD BANG FROM THE ENGINE ACCELERATING. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT HOLD IN STEADY SPEED HIGH GEAR. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD CONTINUALLY GO BETWEEN 5TH AND 6TH GEAR. WHEN IN 6TH GEAR, THE VEHICLE WOULD LOSE SPEED.
