DT: CONSUMER STATES HE FOUND A RECALL ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE, #93V189001. THE HOOD FLEW UP AND OFF, HITTING THE ROOF AND DAMAGED THE HOOD. HE WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH. THERE WAS NO WARNING; IT HAD BEEN ABOUT A WEEK SINCE THE HOOD WAS OPENED. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT HIMSELF AND THE VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. CAR WAS INVOLVED IN 2 DIFFRENT CRASHES ONE WITH A IMPACT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE THE OTHER HEAD ON INTO THE SIDE OF A PICKUP. BOTH TIMES CAR WAS TRAVELING 25-30 MPH. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE SECOND TIME AFTER IMPACT WITH THE TRUCK THE CAR ALSO STRUCK A TELEPHONE POLE WITH THE FRONT BUMPER TO THE POINT WHERE IT HAD TO BE PRYED OFF THE POLE AND IT STILL DID NOT DEPLOY.*AK
