TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WAS PERFORMING AS IF IT WERE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. IN ADDITION, WHEN THE CONTACT WOULD SHIFT FROM REVERSE THE DRIVE, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD OMIT FIRST GEAR AND ENGAGE INTO SECOND GEAR ERRONEOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE MANNER IN WHICH THE CONTACT WAS OPERATING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,000. WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY LEAK GAS. OWNER WOULD SMELL GAS FUMES INSIDE OF VEHICLE WHEN TURNING IT ON. NOTICED ON REARVIEW MIRROR A TRAIL OF GASOLINE. HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP 3 OR MORE TIMES FOR GAS LEAKS. MECHANIC COULD NOT LOCATE CAUSE OF THE LEAKAGE, WHICH STILL LEAKED AFTER REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED.*AK
