WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THERE IS FREQUENT SURGING AND STALLING WITH EVENTUAL RESULT IN A NONRESPONSIVE GAS PEDAL. THE CHECK WRENCH SERVICE LIGHT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WERE ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD BECOME RESPONSIVE AGAIN IF THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF THEN BACK ON. FIRST INCIDENT: WAS DRIVING ON EXPRESS WAY FEEDER ROAD ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE TO ENTER XWAY RAMP WHEN CAR SUDDENLY BEGAN TO QUICKLY DECELERATE. APPLYING GAS YIELDED NO RESULT. PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD AND ESSENTIALLY COASTED INTO A PARKING LOT. TURNED OFF ENGINE. RESTARTED CAR AFTER A FEW MINUTES AND PROBLEM WAS GONE. SECOND INCIDENT: ONE DAY LATER, WAS DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET WHEN AGAIN THE CAR SUDDENLY BEGAN TO RAPIDLY DECELERATE. APPLYING ACCELERATED YIELDED NO RESULTS. COASTED TO STOP AT SIDE OF ROAD. TURNED OFF ENGINE. WAS AGAIN ABLE TO RESTART CAR AND PROBLEM WAS GONE. *TR
