TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 EAGLE TALON. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE DROPPED TO THE GROUND. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINT FAILED. THE MECHANIC MADE THE REPLACEMENT. APPROXIMATELY THREE MONTHS LATER, THE CONTACT HEARD A SCREECHING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINT SHOULD BE REPLACED. AS OF NOVEMBER 13, 2007, THE MECHANIC HAD NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE SUSPENSION: FRONT: CONTROL ARM: LOWER BALL JOINT (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 00V421002); HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE RECALL WORK HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 95,895.
