THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V438000 (VISIBILITY) AND DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE RIGHT TURNING SIGNAL AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS POWERED ON INDEPENDENTLY. THE WIPERS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 53,300. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

WE PURCHASED OUR DODGE NITRO 6/11/2011, NOTICED SHIFTING PROBLEMS RIGHT AWAY BUT WAS TOLDED BY DEALER IS WAS JUST STIFF FROM BEING NEW. AS TIME GOES ON THE WARMER THE TRANSMISSION GETS THE SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS GETS WORSE, MOSTLY ON CRUISE CONTROL. SOME TIMES WITH OR WITHOUT CRUISE ON, IT DOWN SHIFTS AND SOUNDS LIKE THE BOTTOM IS FALLING OUT FROM UNDER THE CAR. TOOK BACK TO DEALER 4 TIMES ON THE PROBLEM, AND WAS TOLD BY TRANSMISSION SPEC. TECH. AT DEALERS THAT CHRYSLER PUT A 4 LITER TRANSMISSION IN A 6 LITER CAR, AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT THAT. AND WAS TOLD THAT IT MAY OR MAYNOT GET WORSE AS TIME AS BY. I NOW HAVE 7400 MILES ON THE CAR AND ITS GETING WORSE AND NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE. NO WONDER CHRYSLER NEEDED A BAILOUT... TO ME THE CAR IS GREAT EXCEPT THE TRANSMISSION !!!!! *JS
