WHILE COMMUTING THIS MORNING TO WORK, I WAS APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, AS I STARTED TO BRAKE, I NOTICED MY BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY, AT THAT POINT I REALIZED MY ENGINE HAD SHUT OFF AND I HAD LOST MY POWER BRAKES/POWER STEERING. AS THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE PAST WITH NO WARNING - AS IT DID THIS TIME, I KNEW I COULD PUT MY ENGINE INTO NEUTRAL AND RE-START MY ENGINE. LUCKILY I WAS NOT IN ANY SORT OF SERIOUS TRAFFIC AND HAD PLENTY OF ROOM TO GET MY VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO AVOID ANY ACCIDENTS. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITH THE PAST WITH DODGE AND HAVE HAD NO SUCCESS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE DURANGO. WHEN INSERTING FUEL IN THE FUEL TANK THE GASOLINE WILL REGURGITATE. ALSO THE FUEL GAUGE ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL DISPLAYS INACCURATE READINGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. ALTHOUGH HE EXPERIENCED IDENTICAL FAILURE, HIS VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS EXCLUDED FROM RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V034000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:FILLER PIPE AND CAP). THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 64,841. THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE.
