2001 DODGE DURANGO WITH RECALL FOR THE IGNITION/PARK INTERLOCK SYSTEM. *KB IN 2008 THE CONSUMER SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE RECALL PERFORMED REGARDING THE IGNITION/PARK INTERLOCK SYSTEM. ON FEBRUARY 16, 2010, THE IGNITION MALFUNCTIONED. THE KEY WOULD NOT GO COMPLETELY IN THE IGNITION, THEREFORE, HE WAS UNABLE TO START OR MOVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE CONSUMER WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE IGNITION TUMBLER COULD NOT BE REPAIRED BECAUSE ONE OF THE METAL BARS IN THE TUMBLER HAD JAMMED IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND THAT A NEW TUMBLER WAS NEEDED. THE CONSUMER WAS CERTAIN THAT THE MALFUNCTION OF THE TUMBLER WAS CAUSED BY THE REPAIR TO THE IGNITION/PARK INTERLOCK SYSTEM. *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
