TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKED, THE KEY WOULD NOT DISENGAGE FROM THE IGNITION. ADDITIONALLY, THE GEAR SHIFTER WOULD SPORADICALLY FAIL TO MOVE OUT OF PARK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

"SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" AND "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" WARNING DURING NORMAL DRIVING ON MY WAY TO WORK THIS MORNING. THE CAR SUDDENLY DECELERATED AND STARTED RUNNING TERRIBLY, CAUSING A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 2 MONTHS! APPARENTLY THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM WITH IMPALAS FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW THAT GM IS SEEMINGLY UNABLE TO FIX. HAD I KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED AN IMPALA. GM SOLD ME A LEMON.
