LEAVING WORK AND THE CLUTCH STUCK WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR THEN THERE WAS A TERRIBLE BURNING SMELL AND IT STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. THEN WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING 65MPH I DOWN-SHIFTED FROM 6TH TO 5TH FOR UPCOMING SLOWER TRAFFIC AND THE CLUTCH STUCK AGAIN AND THE CAR STARTS TO STALL. BOTH TIMES I HAD PRESSED ON THE GAS THINKING THE CLUTCH WOULD COME OUT AND IT DIDN'T SO THEN THERE WAS TERRIBLE BURNING SMELL. I FINALLY GOT THE CLUTCH UNSTUCK BOTH TIMES AND PROCEEDED HOME. IT DIDN'T DO IT WHILE DRIVING TO WORK BUT MY CAR HAD BEEN IN THE GARAGE ALL NIGHT. HOWEVER, AT WORK MY CAR SITS OUTSIDE ALL DAY AND IT WAS REALLY COLD THAT DAY. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1991 CHEVROLET CAMARO. WHENEVER FUEL WAS ADDED TO THE VEHICLE THERE WAS A LEAK COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TOO OLD FOR THEM TO LOOKUP THE VIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL; NHTSA#94V077000; COMPONENT: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE: TANK ASSEMBLY: FILLER PIPE AND CAP. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO OTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000. |
