ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
HI THERE , I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY AVEO , HATCHBACK, AND HAD TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER IN BELLAIR OHIO CALLED AUTOCHOICE. THE REASON I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, IS BECAUSE, I WAS DRIVING, AND MY ENTIRE DASHBOARD LIGHTS WENT OUT AS WELL AS THE SHIFTER LIGHTS! THEY HAD TEMPORARILY FIXED THE PROBLEM AT 180.00 DOLLARS LATER, AND CURRENTLY, THEY SEEMED TO RIG IT SOMEWAY WITH BLACK ELECTRICAL TAPE. ORIGINALLY I SMELLED A LOT OF SMOKE AND SEEN THAT IT WAS BURNT WHERE THE ADDITIONAL FUSE BOX WAS LOCATED, BELLOWING FROM THE HOOD WHEN THE INCIDENT DID OCCUR! IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS, MY REAR, RIGHT AND LEFT PARKING LIGHTS, AS WELL AS MY LICENSE PLATE LIGHT WILL NO LONGER WORK! I TRIED CONTACTING CHEVROLET RECENTLY, AND THEY SAID I HAD TO PAY A 110.00 DOLLAR CHECK TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR TO SEE IF IT WAS THE DEALER'S FAULT, IN WHICH IT WAS! I ASKED CHEVROLET WHY THERE WAS NEVER A RECALL, AND HE MUTTERED, BECAUSE WE REALLY HAVEN'T HAD TOO MANY PROBLEMS. I WAS LIKE YEAH RIGHT, I GOOGLED THE PROBLEMS AND FOUND SEVERAL THOUSAND OF 2004,2005, AND 2006 CHEVY AVEO'S WITH THE SAME ISSUE! PLEASE HELP. MAYBE CHEVROLET WILL LISTEN TO YOU, BECAUSE THEY REALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CONSUMER! *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WOULD INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL. ALSO THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIMMY WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND A TUNE-UP WAS PERFORMED. AFTER THE REPAIR THE FAILURE RESURFACED SO THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. SHE PURCHASED A FUEL CAP. THE REPAIR DID NOT REMEDY THE FAILURE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED A NO-START CONDITION. A MECHANIC STATED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN FRACTURED. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 54,000.
