VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE INITIATED IN POWER DOWN MODE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES AND AT TIMES, WOULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES WHERE THEY AGAIN, REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AS WELL AS THE SPARK PLUGS AND THE O2 SENSOR. THE REPAIRS FAILED TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER A THIRD TIME WHO WAS NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT WAS CAUSING THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 85,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET AVEO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS SHE FELL ASLEEP BEHIND THE WHEEL AND SWERVED OFF THE ROAD. AFTER REOPENING HER EYES AND TRYING TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE SHE CRASHED INTO A TREE ON THE ADJACENT SIDE OF THE ROAD. UPON IMPACT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THERE WEREN'T ANY WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER RECEIVED ABRASIONS TO HER CHEST AREA AND WENT TO THE HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THERE WERE NO DIAGNOSTIC TEST PERFORMED DUE TO A PENDING INVESTIGATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,000.
