ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM
I HAVE AN ACURA TL 2003 VIN [XXX]. EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR (NEW, PURCHASED ON NOV 7, 1998) ON SEVERAL TIMES ITS 'CHECK ENGINE' INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OFF WITHOUT ANY REPAIR OR ANY CHANGE. ACURA HAD A RECALL ON EGR SYSTEM CLOGGING. BUT IN MY CAR THIS INDICATOR LIGHT STILL COMES ON AND THEN GOES OFF WITHOUT ANY INDICATION OF A PROBLEM. I TOOK MY CAR TO SERVICE CENTER THEY TOLD ME THAT CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS BAD, BEFORE I COULD GET IT FIXED THE INDICATOR LIGHT WENT OFF. BUT IN FEW DAYS "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME BACK AGAIN. THIS INDICATOR LIGHT OFF-ON CYCLE STILL GOING ON, IT GOES OFF FOR WEEKS AND COMES BACK ON FOR WEEKS. VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
I HAD JUST MADE A RIGHT TURN INTO A PARKING SPACE PROCEEDING AT ABOUT 2 MILES PER HOUR WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND WAS ABOUT TWO FEET FROM THE END OF THE SPACE, ABOUT TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE, WHEN SUDDENLY THE CAR ACCELERATED FORWARD, WENT OVER A BUMPER, AND PROCEEDED TO GO DOWN A HILL, PART ON SOME CONCRETE STAIRS AND PART ON GRASS. I BRAKED ALL THE WAY AND STOPPED AT THE BOTTOM OF TWO SETS OF STAIRS. SWITCHED CAR INTO NEUTRAL, ENGINE WAS RACING, AND TURNED OFF ENGINE. CAR WAS TOTALLED. NO INJURIES.*AK
