TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC TERRAIN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALER WHO ADVISED HER THAT THE WIRE LEADING TO THE AIR BAG WAS FRACTURED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED YET THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHIN A FEW DAYS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD NEED TO ORDER A SPECIAL LUBRICANT FOR THE AIR BAGS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,900. UPDATED 3/22/11 *CN THE AIR BAG LIGHT PROBLEM HAS BEEN RESOLVED. UPDATED 04/25/11

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC TERRAIN. THE CONTACT STATED SHE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR RECALL 09V489000 (VISIBILITY: DEFROSTER/ DEFOGGER SYSTEM, GM SAFETY RECALL #090298). THE SOFTWARE IN THE CENTER OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CAUSED THE HEATING, AIR CONDITIONING, DEFROST, AND RADIO CONTROLS, AS WELL AS THE PANEL ILLUMINATION TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHERE THE COMPUTER MODULE IN THE CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, THE REPAIR DID NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SHE WAS TOLD THEY REPLACED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CANNOT EXPLAIN THE REASON WHY IT IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT SOMEONE WOULD RETURN HER CALL ABOUT THE REPAIR COSTS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 21,000
