THE STEERING STICKS. EXTRA EFFORT IS REQUIRED TO MAKE CORRECTIONS OFF CENTER. THE EFFORT REQUIRED TO CORRECT OR TURN THE VEHICLE INCREASES OR STICKS. THIS RESULTS IN UNDER OR OVER CORRECTION OR CAUSES PROBLEMS IN TURNING AND RETURNING THE WHEEL TO CENTER. SOMETIME THE STEERING IS FINE AND THEN THIS STICKING OR THIS COULD BE DESCRIBED AS THE STEERING WHEEL IS STUCK IN A RUT THAT REQUIRES EXTRA EFFORT TO GET OUT OF. LIKE GETTING OUT OF A RUT SOMETIMES YOUR GO TOO FAR TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT DUE TO THE EXTRA EFFORT REQUIRED WHILE AT OTHER TIMES ONLY NORMAL EFFORT IS NEEDED. THIS IS DANGEROUS, I SEE ON THE INTERNET THAT GM HAS A BULLETIN PIT 4992A BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS BULLETIN INDICATES. MY LOCAL DEALER DIDN'T KNOW OF THIS BULLETIN BUT SAID THEY WOULD CHECK. I NEVER GOT AN ANSWER. THIS STEERING ISSUED WITH THE 2.4 L ENGINE AND THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING IS A DANGEROUS CONDITION. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 3 MPH IN REVERSE, A LOAD ROARING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE ENGINE. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000. UPDATED 2/11/14*CN ANOTHER DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE HIGH VALVE FUEL PUMP ON THE ENGINE AND IN THE GAS TANK.
