WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, I DISCOVERED A SLIGHT NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN EACH TIME I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL. IN ADDITION TO THE NOISE, I FELT A "POPPING" THAT APPEARED TO BE COMING FROM THE BASE OF THE STEERING COLUMN. REGARDLESS OF WHICH WAY I TURNED THE WHEEL, THE SOUNDS WERE THE SAME, AND CONTINUED TO GET LOUDER THE MORE I DROVE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER, TO INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE. AFTER THE INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN WAS FAULTY, AND SHOULD BE REPLACED. REPAIR COST OF $950. WITH ONLY 57,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, IT WAS WAY TOO SOON TO HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS TYPE OF ISSUE. AFTER SOME RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THAT THERE HAD BEEN SEVERAL STEERING PROBLEM COMPLAINTS DOCUMENTED REGARDING THE 2008 SATURN AURA. *TR

SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRIC
THE CAR'S BRAKES STARTED MAKING FUNNY NOISES AND WHEN DEPRESSED THE STEERING COLUMN WOULD VIBRATE. SATURN SAID THE ROTORS WERE WARPED AND RE-SURFACED THEM AT 13,000 MILES. AT 35,000 MILES THE CAR STARTED TO DO THE EXACT THING. HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP WOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM THIS TIME AND SAID THEY WERE NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE ROTORS NEED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WAS 65% OF THE BRAKE PAD LIFE YET. THE FAILURE WAS PREMATURE AND CORPORATE WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. IT SEEMS LIKE THERE WAS BAD METAL INVOLVED IN THE ROTORS. *TR
