SAAB 9-3. COMPLAINT RECEIVED FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, TRADE AND CONSUMER PROTECTION RELATED TO UNSATISFACTORY TRANSACTION *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED SAAB/GM SENT HIM A LETTER REFERENCING DEFECTIVE SPRINGS. THE LETTER STATED THAT GM WOULD PAY FOR THE REPAIRS EVEN IF THE REPAIRS HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED. THE CONSUMER SENT ALL THE REQUESTED FORMS AND DOCUMENTATION. WHEN THE CONSUMER CALLED TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE STATUS, HE WAS TOLD THE CHECK HAD BEEN APPROVED AND MAILED ON MARCH 25TH. THE CONSUMER STATED HE STILL HAS NOT RECEIVED THE CHECK. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED HE WOULD ONLY BE REIMBURSED $415 OUT OF THE $1150 THAT WAS SPENT ON THE REPAIR AND TOWING BILL. *JB

STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM
ON TWO OCCASSIONS, IT WAS NECESSARY TO BRING THE SAAB TO A QUICK STOP ON THE FREEWAY. ON 3/25/00, I NEEDED TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY STOP, GOING 65 MPH AND THE CAR SEEMED TO ALMOST SLIDE, NOT GRIPPING THE ROAD. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 25 YEARS, AND HAD TO MAKE EMERGENCY STOPS IN THE PAST, AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS EXPERIENCE. I BELIEVE THE SAAB 9-3'S SHOULD BE CHECKED FOR ABILITY TO STOP IN AN EMERGENCY. ALSO, MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN THE ACCIDENT. *AK
