WHILE WASHING MY 1995 NISSAN PATHFINDER LE, I NOTICED THAT THE MAIN FRAME RAILS ARE RUSTED OUT. THIS IS IN THE ARCH ABOVE THE REAR AXLE AREA AND IS RUSTING FROM THE INSIDE OF THE BOX SECTION MOVING OUTWARD. THEREFORE, THE DAMAGE IN COMPLETELY INVISIBLE UNTIL IT WORKS ITS WAY THROUGH THE HEAVY METAL OF THE FRAME. THE DAMAGE THAT I CAN EASILY SEE IS ABOUT 10 INCHES LONG AND UP THE WHOLE HEIGHT OF THE RAIL. FEELING WITH MY FINGERS I CAN FEEL RUST ALL ALONG THE INTERIOR. THIS VEHICLE IS A LOCAL VEHICLE IN WICHITA, KANSAS AND HAS NOT EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE ROAD SALTING. I HAVE BEEN THE OWNER FOR 5 YEARS AND KNOW THE PREVIOUS OWNER. THIS VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN STORED UNDER COVER THROUGHOUT ITS ENTIRE LIFE. NIGHT TIME IN A GARAGE AND IN A COVERED PARKING GARAGE DURING WORKING HOURS. THE EXTERIOR PAINT IS LIKE NEW, BUT THE FRAME IS ROTTING OUT. NO CORRECTIONS TO REMEDY THE RUSTED FRAME HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT AS OF YET. *TR |
