SEVERAL WEEKS AGO I NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT OF MY 2003 NISSAN MURANO WAS ROCKING BACK AND FORTH, PARTICULARLY AROUND CURVES. THIS WEEK, THE LEFT BACK SIDE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT BROKE. THE LEFT BACK SIDE OF THE SEAT IS NO LONGER STATIONARY. IT MOVES UP AND DOWN WITH ANY TURN OR BUMP. THE SEAT IS NO LONGER LEVEL OR PROPERLY SUPPORTIVE. I WENT TO A NISSAN FORUM AND REALIZED THAT THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM THAT MANY OTHER NISSAN MURANO OWNERS HAVE HAD. THE DESCRIPTIONS OF THE PROBLEM ARE IDENTICAL TO WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED. MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND I DO NOT HAVE THE $900. THAT EVERYONE IS REPORTING IS QUOTED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. *TR

THE HIGH PRESSURE POWER STEERING HOSE AND SENSOR ASSEMBLY BASICALLY BLEW OUT OF THIS LOVINGLY USED NISSAN MURANO. THIS CAUSED A POWER STEERING "WHINE" WHEN TURNING AND MADE TURNING DIFFICULT AND UNSAFE. FURTHER DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE BLOW OUT VICE SLOW BREAK IT HAPPENED QUICKLY AND IMMEDIATELY IMPACTED THE AMOUNT OF POWER STEERING FLUID AVAILABLE TO THE SYSTEM. NATURALLY, AS THERE WAS NO EXTENDED WARRANTY, NISSAN WOULD NOT COVER COST NOR CONSIDER A REDUCTION IN REPAIR/REPLACEMENT FEES. THIS IS A BIG-TIME HISTORICAL PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR MAKE AND YEAR OF THIS NISSAN. LOCAL DEALERSHIPS SAY THAT THEY REPLACE ABOUT TWO OF THESE PER WEEK ON AVERAGE, AND THE INTERNET IS FILLED WITH SIMILAR STORIES OF REPAIRS COSTING IN EXCESS OF $600. THIS REPAIR COST ME A TOTAL OF $650 DOLLARS AND A REAL LACK OF CONFIDENCE IN THE QUALITY OF THE NISSAN PRODUCT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. *TR
