POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:COOLING UNIT AND LINES
MY TRANMISSON IS LEAKING AND GRINDING. SINCE MITS. DON'T MAKE ANY PART FOR THE TRANMSSION, I WAS ASKED TO BUY A BRAND NEW TRANMISSON. ALSO MY TRANSFER CASE IS MAKING THIS STRANGE NOISE AND PEOPLE TOLD ME THEIR TRANSFER CASE LOCKED UP ON THEM WHILE THE CAR WAS DRIVING. *AK

SEAT BELTS:FRONT:RETRACTOR
THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELTS WILL NOT TIGHTEN WHEN THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE IS ENGAGED INTO THE SEAT BELT HOLDER AND THE IGNITION IS PLACED IN THE ON POSITION. WHEN DRIVING IF YOU WERE TO LOOSEN YOUR SHOULDER HARNESS IT WOULD NOT AUTOMATICALLY RESUME THE SENSE OF OPPRESSION THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY THERE. WHEN RELEASING THE SEAT BELT IT WILL NOT RETRACT AUTOMATICALLY INTO THE RETRACTOR WITH THE IGNITION ON. WHEN TURNING OFF THE IGNITION AND RELEASING THE SEAT BELT IT WILL NOT RETRACT INTO THE RETRACTOR FOR THIRTY SECONDS AS IT WAS DESIGNED TO DO. I AM ONE OF MANY 3000GT OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I NOTIFIED THE CLOSEST MITSUBISHI DEALER AND TALKED WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER WHO STATED THAT HE WAS UNAWARE OF ANY PROBLEMS OF THIS NATURE WITH THESE CARS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.*AK
