AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70MPH I SUDDENLY FELT A TUG AND THE SPEEDOMETER BEGAN GOING DOWN AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE. THE WRENCH CAME ON. I PULLED OVER AND WAITED TO BE TOWED. I JUST CALLED MAZDA, THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I WAS TOLD THIS IS NOT PART OF THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THE BIGGEST ISSUE, THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER FOR A MONTH. THIS INDICATES TO ME THERE ARE NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. I AM NOW DOWN A CAR FOR A MONTH, UNACCEPTABLE. IN RESEARCHING ONLINE I HAVE FOUND OTHERS TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I PLAN TO CONTACT MAZDA AS I FEEL THIS IS SOMETHING THEY CAN PAY TO REPLACE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 MAZDA TRIBUTE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 20 MPH, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WAS CRASHED INTO BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, THE HATCH OPENED INADVERTENTLY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NECK AND BACK INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 04V605000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 87,000.
