TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 LINCOLN MARK LT. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE SUSPENSION LOOSENED AND THE VEHICLE DROPPED TO THE GROUND. THE TIRES BEGAN TO SKID AND THE VEHICLE STRUCK A MOUNTAIN AND BOUNCED BACK INTO TRAFFIC. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES INVOLVED IN THE CRASH. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT STRUT WAS WELDED INCORRECTLY. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 20,300. UPDATED 01/14/08. *LJ UPON INSPECTION, THE WELDING WAS NOT PROPERLY FUSED TO THE SHAFT. UNDER STRESS THE SHAFT CAME APART AND LOCKED THE WHEEL. WELDING ON TWO SIDES OF THE SHAFT WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TO HOLD THE STRESS LOAD. UPDATED *JB

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
RACING FLARE-UP RPM'S AND ACCELERATION UPON BRAKING INTERMITTINGLY. TRUCK ACCELERATES AT ANY TIME AT A HIGH SPEED SUPPOSEDLY CANNOT BE DUPLICATED UPON TESTING AT DEALERSHIP. FORD DENIED UNTIL TSB WAS FOUND AT THE FORD CORPORATION DATED JUNE 2008. UPON 2ND VISIT TO MECHANIC PERFORMED RPM FLARE-UP FIX ON TRUCK TO THIS TSB. TRUCK STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM SINCE 2008 MECHANIC STILL CANNOT DUPLICATE. CANNOT GET RESOLUTION PROBLEM VERY DANGEROUS TO PEDESTIANS AND OURSELVES. UNABLE TO DRIVE UNLESS WE HAVE TO USE THIS VEHICLE - RETIREMENT CAR ? *CN
