TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP PATRIOT. THE CONTACT STATED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ON THE VEHICLE SNAPPED. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SLOW DOWN AND HE DID NOT REALIZE THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BROKE. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS BROKEN. THE BROKEN PEDAL HAD APPROXIMATELY AN INCH OF THE STEM CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD, BECAUSE THE ACCELERATOR WAS MADE OUT OF PLASTIC. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,100. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 JEEP PATRIOT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A WIRING HARNESS HAD MALFUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,749 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
