CONSUMER'S VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM AS MENTIONED IN NHTSA RECALL 97V19400 CONCERNING FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM. THE FUEL TANK MOUNTED FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT ACCURACY CAN DEGRADE OVERTIME, INDICATING SIGNIFICANTLY MORE FUEL IN RESERVE THAN IS ACTUALLY PRESENT. DEALER INDICATED THIS VEHICLE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BUT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO VIN. *AK

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, SHE ATTEMPTED DECELERATE AND THE BRAKE PEDAL SEIZED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER A TOTAL OF FOUR TIMES. THE MASTER CYLINDER AND THE VACUUM ASSEMBLY HOSE WERE BOTH REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED HER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DIFFERENT DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 8,000. UPDATED 2/5/14 *CN
