TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC SHOP, WHO RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND STATED THAT THERE WAS A FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM AND THE EMISSION RELATED POWER TRAIN ELECTRONIC UNIT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V203000 (POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM)). THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.

WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED VEHICLE LOST ENGINE POWER SLOWING VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY. SPEED IS RESTORED AFTER FOOT IS TAKEN OFF ACCELERATOR AND REAPPLIED. LIGHTS APPEAR ON DAYS INDICATING THE STABILITY CONTROL AND AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES AND COULD NOT LOCATE ANY PROBLEMS. LOSS OF POWER IS NOW AT RANDOM INTERVALS AT ALL SPEEDS AND ALL CONDITIONS. MECHANIC IS STILL UNABLE TO LOCATE ANY PROBLEM.
