THANK GOD I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THEN THE PARK ASSIST SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND WENT OFF AGAIN. I GOT THE CAR HOME. MY HUSBAND TOOK IT OUT. THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AND NOT SHIFTING INTO HIGHER GEAR. TODAY TAKING THE KIDS TO THE BUS IT STALLED AGAIN. WHEN I WAS ABLE TO RESTART, I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS AND THE CAR HESITATE, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER COASTING TO A STOP, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS BUT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER STATED THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 08V203000 (POWER TRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: CONTROL MODULE), BUT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,500.
