PERIODIC "TRACTION ACTIVE" INDICATOR LIGHT ALONG WITH GAS PEDAL INOPERABLE. BECAME MORE FREQUENT AND DURING LONG ROAD TRIP FOR WORK, ALMOST GOT INTO 3 ACCIDENTS. ONLY OCCURS WHEN STARTING OUT OR DURING ACCELERATION WHILE GOING SLOW. TWICE AT STOP SIGN WHILE CROSSING BUSY INTERSECTIONS, VEHICLE DIED IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION WHEN PULLING OUT FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. CAUSED TRAFFIC TO STOP AND ALMOST HAD COLLISION. ONCE HAPPENED WHILE MAKING LEFT TURN AT INTERSECTION. SAME RESULTS. SAW MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON FORUMS ABOUT GMC YUKON. USUALLY HAPPENS AFTER 40K (WARRANTY EXPIRED) I JUST WENT OVER 40K LAST WEEK. SEEMS LIKE PROBLEM STARTED BACK IN 2003 VERSION, FROM ALL OTHER COMPLAINTS I READ ABOUT. ENGINE WENT INTO REDUCED ENGINE POWER (REP) MODE AND 4 DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLESHOOTING CODES (DTCВїїS) WERE SET ALL RELATING TO THE THROTTLE ACTIVATION CIRCUIT (TAC). WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE ENGINE POWER IS SHUT OFF IMMEDIATELY AND THE ENGINE WILL ONLY IDLE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH GM AND IS A POTENTIALLY EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE. THE ENTIRE TAC SYSTEM ( THROTTLE BODY, TAC MODULE, PCM, WIRE HARNESSES/CONNECTORS) NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED.
