I OWN A 2010 GMC TERRAIN 4 CYL. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL DIFFERENT SERVICE PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE SINCE JUNE 2010. ALTHOUGH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT MY DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN COOPERATIVE AND UNDERSTANDING THROUGH ALL THE SERVICE JOBS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE, IT HAS BECOME DISHEARTENING AND FRUSTRATING THAT MY VEHICLE CONTINUES TO GIVE ME PROBLEMS WITH ELECTRICAL, ENGINE WON'T START UP, STATIC FROM RADIO, NOT ABLE TO PLAY IPHONE THROUGH USB CONNECTION AT TIMES, RANDOM WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON AND OFF ON DISPLAY CONSOLE. I HAVE BEEN GIVEN SEVERAL REASONS OF "COULD BE" OR "MAYBE" BUT NEVER AN ACTUAL CONCRETE REASON FOR ALL THE NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. THE COMPUTER SYSTEM APPARENTLY GIVES FALSE READINGS ON OCCASION TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT ERROR CODES AND MESSAGES OR NO ERROR MESSAGES WILL COME UP, EVEN THOUGH THERE MIGHT BE ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. MY CONCERN IS WITH ALL THE ELECTRONIC ISSUES, ENGINE ISSUE OF NOT STARTING UP, COMPUTER MESSAGES OR LACK OF MESSAGES TO THE VEHICLE WHEN THERE IS AN ISSUE.. IF I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND DON'T KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM BECAUSE THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WITHIN THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCURATE REPORT CORRECT DATA ABOUT THE STATUS OF THE VEHICLE, THEN HOW DO I KNOW WHEN TO GET THE VEHICLE TO GET SERVICED BEFORE I AM STRANDED WITH MY CHILDREN OR WORSE YET, GET INTO A CAR ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER MALFUNCTION. MY DEALERSHIP IN MY HOMETOWN CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH WITH INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE MANUFACTURER; SO IF THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TYPE OF FIXES TO MAKE, THEN MY VEHICLE IS NOT UPDATED WITH NECESSARY FIXES WHEN APPROPRIATE. *TR

DEAR SAFETY OFFICER, THIS IS TO BRING TO YOUR ATTENTION THAT I WISH TO PURSUE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST GMC. MY LIFE WAS AT RISK IN AN ACCIDENT. AS IT IS ACCIDENTS ARE UN-WELCOMED, TO ADD TO IT THE SAFETY FEATURE (AIRBAGS) FROM MY GMC VEHICLE CHASIS NO [XXX],ORIGIN CANADA,REGISTER IN UAE DID NOT FUNCTION AT ALL. A DEPLOY SIGN APPEARED ON THE DISPLAY, BUT NONE OF THE AIRBAGS FUNCTIONED AS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW LESS THAN A YEAR AGO UNDER WARRANTY WITH COMPLETE SERVICE HISTORY. THE DAMAGE WAS SO MUCH TO THE VEHICLE THAT MY INSURANCE COMPANY DECLARED IT AS TOTAL LOSS AND ARE SETTLING WITH ME FOR THE AMOUNT THEY HAD INSURED THE VEHICLE FOR (OR A SUITABLE SUM). DESPITE THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE, THE AIRBAGS DID NOT FUNCTION, PUTTING MY LIFE AT RISK. A GMC REPLY WHICH PUTS SERIOUS QUESTIONS ON THE REAR IMPACT TEST PRACTICED IN DESIGN .A AIRBAG SYSTEM INTEGRATED WITH SEAT BELT AND WARNING SIGN, UPON CRASH FULLY EXTENDED BUT DID NOT ROLL BACK TO FACTORY SETTING IS CLEAR SIGN FOR VISUAL EVIDENCE.A EDR(EVIDENT DATA RECORDER)WILL NOT BE ACCESSED BY THE CUSTOMER DUE TO RIGHTS HELD BY THE MANUFACTURER FOR WARRANTY. AS SAFETY IS THE NORMS FOR US VEHICLES,A COMPLETE FAILURE OF MULTIPLE COLLISION RAISES THE DOUBT OF GMC COMPLYING WITH SAFETY DURING DESIGN AND TEST EXECUTION.WHAT WOULD BE THE MALFUNCTION OF SAFETY SYSTEM COULD BE INVESTIGATED IN ORDER TO MINIMIZE THE FATALITY IN THE DESIGN FEATURES.A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION IS NEEDED AFTER THE FINDING OF EDR RECORDINGS.I WILL BE RELIEVED IF THE FUTURE DESIGN IMPROVEMENT WILL SAVE MANY LIVES FROM SIMILAR CRASHES.
