PURCHASED A NEW 2009 GMC ACADIA, THE NAVIGATION, RADIO AND DVD SYSTEM FAILED. VEHICLE ONLY HAD 405 MILES ON IT. I NOTED THAT THERE WERE 4 ELECTRICAL FAILURES DOCUMENTED IN NHTSA REPORT ON THE ACADIA. THE NAV. RADIO AND DVD ARE POWERED BY THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AS IS THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND FOR THIS REASON I HAVE CONCERN THAT A COMPUTER FAILURE MIGHT OCCUR WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHICH COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER FOR REPAIR, THEY COULD NOT REPAIR THE FAILED SYSTEM NOR DID THEY EVEN KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM. DEALER HAD TO REPLACE THE SYSTEM. NO REASON BY THE DEALER WAS GIVEN AS TO WHY THE NAVIGATION, RADIO AND DVD SYSTEM FAILED. THEY SAID THEY MAY NEVER KNOW WHY IT FAILED. THE FAILED EQUIPMENT WAS TO BE SENT INTO GMC FOR A FAILURE ANALYSIS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE HEADREST WAS ABNORMALLY FORCING HIS HEAD FORWARD WHEN DRIVING AND PREVENTING HIM FROM BEING ABLE TO COMFORTABLE REST HIS SHOULDERS BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED IN THAT MANNER AND COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,813 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,600.
