VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:CRUISE CONTROL
I'VE HAVE EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS OF ERRATIC IDLE SPEED, THE ENGINE REVVING AND DROPPING UNCONTROLABLY AND SPORADIC DYING OF THE ENGINE WHEN I PRESS IN THE CLUTCH. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN TRACED TO MY DELCO ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE BEING FAULTY. THIS FAULTY MODULE UNFORTUATELY CONTROLS ALL OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE CAR INCLUDING IDLE. THIS IS A HAZARD TO ME AND OTHERS, THE ERRATIC IDLE HAS CAUSES MY (MANUAL) CAR TO LURCH FORWARD UNCONTROLABLY, DURING TAKE-OFF. THE SPORADIC DYING CAUSES THE MOST DANGER. WHEN THE CLUTCH IS PRESSED IN, IN PREPERATION TO STOP THE CAR DIES AND WITH IT BRAKING POWER AND STEERING. THIS LEAVES THE DRIVER ATTEMPTING TO STOP BEFORE BRAKE PRESSURE IS LOST, AND AT THE SAME TIME ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE CAR IN A VAIN EFFORT... THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME MANY TIMES, FORTUNATELY I HAVEN'T HAD AN ACCIDENT YET. I AM OUTRAGED THAT ISUZU/GEO CAN ALLOW A CARS TO BE BUILT LIKE THIS, WITH FAULTY COMPUTERS. ITS A SAFETY HAZARD, WHICH THEY EXPECT THE OWNER TO FIX AT AN OUTRAGOUS COST. ITS EITHER FIX IT AND WAIT FOR IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN WITH THE NEW COMPUTER AT A COST TO ME, OR LIVE WITH THE FACT THAT THEY BUILT AN UNSAFE CAR. THIS I FIND UNACCEPTABLE, THATS WHY I'M WRITING YOU, SOMEONE NEEDS TO MAKE THEM FESS UP TO THIER MISTAKE AND FIX IT. *AK
